Spider-Man 2 The Review

Since this is a Spiderman site you may think that this review is prejudiced toward the movie, and you might be right. But in all honesty this is a great movie! If you happen to be a comic book fan then it ranks up there as one of the best movies of all time. There are moments in this movie that have no special effects whatsoever, but bring to life the Spiderman comic books in a way that is well ..amazing. I don't want to give away a lot, but the elevator scene is the most hilarious scene to ever grace a comic book super hero movie. I felt like the characters in the movie just jumped right out of a Spiderman comic book. It's a classic in every sense. The action is awesome. I wish there could have been more, but I understand without time for the story the action wouldn't be nearly as effective. The action is part of the story and not just meaningless explosions made to look good in a movie trailer. Be warned at first there's a lot sad stuff, but there's a lot of comedy too courtesy of Jonah Jameson and some of Spiderman's issues you'll just have to see for yourself. It's an emotional and action roller coaster ride.

You can tell when a movie is made with love toward it's subject matter, and this is definitely one of those times. An important lesson to all those Hollywood big wigs inspiring to make a successful super hero movie, make sure those involved are fans themselves. This movie has heart and that's what makes it a winner!

When I saw it Wednesday on it's release day we barely got seats at a 5 O'clock showing. At the end of the movie everyone else must have liked it too because people actually applauded at the end of the movie. Something I've only heard a few times at the movies.  Shop for Spider-Man 2 DVDs
